On the studio's approach to scale, Garbut adds: "Normally you compromise scale for detail or detail for interaction, but with this project we went the other way — everything is dialed up. Lucia is a recently released convict from Liberty City, trained to fight by her father. Their story kicks off when "an easy score goes wrong" and the pair gets pulled into a larger criminal conspiracy across Vice City and Leonida. How close they get is up to you.
You can play them as a platonic partnership or grow them into a romantic couple. Romance builds through small interactions — holding hands, answering each other's calls, accepting invitations. There are no gameplay benefits attached. It's pure roleplay, but your choices do shape story elements down the line.
New GTA 6 Gameplay Systems: WAiNK, RydeMe, and the GTA 6 Heat System
The in-game phone does a lot of work this time:
- WAiNK — scan any vehicle for security level, trackers, and fence value before you touch it
- RydeMe — an in-game ride-share app that doubles as a fast-travel system. Pick up passengers, chat with them on the ride, and get across the map fast
- The GTA 6 Heat system — police gather intel from crime scenes, so changing your appearance becomes a real escape strategy
